SENIOR REFEREES

 Job Title: Senior Basketball Referee

 Organisation: Manly Warringah Basketball Association

 Location: Northern Beaches Indoor Sports Centre, Jacksons Rd, Warriewood, 2102

 Position Type: Casual (ongoing)

 

About Manly Warringah Basketball Association:

 Manly Warringah Basketball Association (MWBA) is a dynamic and community-driven organisation dedicated to the growth and development of basketball in the Northern Beaches. With a focus on providing a positive and inclusive environment, MWBA offers a range of basketball programs for players of all ages and skill levels.

MWBA are looking to recruit referees for the senior local competition.

Have you previously refereed and are looking to get back on the court?

If you have experience refereeing or are new to it and would like to try, we welcome you to join us on the court. Refereeing not only provides you with a chance to stay active but also an opportunity to earn extra cash.

 

Position Overview:

 MWBA is seeking experienced and qualified individuals to fill the role of Senior Basketball Referees.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of the game and ensuring fair play during various basketball competitions and events hosted by MWBA.

This position requires a deep understanding of basketball rules, excellent officiating skills.

As an MWBA Senior Local comp referee, your main role will be to ensure fair play and uphold the integrity of the game.

  • Be available on Monday and/or Wednesday with games beginning at 8pm and finishing at 10:20pm

Court Supervisors

Responsibilities include: 

  • Support referees
  • Monitor and control spectator and player behaviour
  • Ensure that all players hold current BNSW registration/insurance prior to taking the court
  • Ensure that score bench is covered by a member of each team
  • Bring score scoresheets and equipment necessary to run the game ( supplied by MWBA)
  • Make sure all players are in the correct uniforms
  • Open and lock up facility

To be Successful in the role you will have:

  • Must be over 18 years old
  • Hold a current drivers license
  • Hold a current Working With Children’s Check at an with an Employee clearance level
  • Good communication skills
  • Responsible and reliable
  • Good problem solving skills

On Court Coaches For Little Eagles

Responsibilities include: 

  • Teaching the players the game of basketball on court.
  • Ensure that all players are involved.
  • Referee the basic rules while teaching the players.

To be Successful in the role you will have:

  • Have an understanding of the rules of Basketball
  • Must be 16 years and older
  • Hold a current Working With Children’s Check at an Employee clearance level, if over 18 years old
  • Good communication skills
  • Responsible and reliable
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Be avaialble to work Tuesdays 4pm to 6pm or Saturday 1pm-6pm
