Welcome to our Potter Summer 2020 Season. Please find below information regarding the season, rules, regulations and procedures.

Should you require assistance or additional information throughout the season please do not hesitate to approach either the Stadium Supervisor or Game Supervisor during your competition. POTTER LEAGUE COMPETITION

OUR BEGINNER LEVEL OF COMPETITION

FOR PRIMARY SCHOOL YEARS (YR 1 TO YR 6)

AVAILABLE ONLINE UNTIL SUNDAY 23rd FEBRUARY, 2020 UNLESS SOLD OUT PRIOR

Yr 1/2 Mixed sex|players must be in year 1 or 2 of primary school, boy or girl|NBISC|Tuesdays

Yr 3/4 Mixed sex|players must be in year 3 or 4 of primary school, boy or girl|NBISC|Tuesdays

Yr 3/4 Girls|Girls must be in year 3 or 4 of primary school|NBISC or NSHS|Saturdays

Yr 3/4 Boys|Boys must be in year 3 or 4 of primary school|PCYC Dee Why|Saturdays

Yr 5/6 Girls|Girls must be in year 5 or 6 of primary school|NBISC or NSHS|Saturdays

Yr 5/6 Boys|Boys must be in year 5 or 6 of primary school|PCYC Dee Why|Saturdays

Fee includes:

  1. Player Registration (per comp)
  2. Player Entry (per season to cover competition fees)
  3. Uniform Fee (MWBA provides a reversible singlet for the player to keep)

Games are played at the Northern Beaches Indoor Sports Centre, Narrabeen Sports High School, PCYC Dee Why.  Games are conducted for

Year 1/2:
12 minute halves – Running clock
1 minute half time break
No time outs, as Potter League is a Development League
Scores are NOT to be displayed on the scoreboard
Year 3/4 and 5/6:
15 minute halves – Running clock
1 minute half time break
No time outs

SUMMER 2020 COMPETITION SCHEDULE

  • Competition commences the week of Tuesday 3rd March  & concludes Tuesday 30th June, 2020
  • There will be no finals rounds as this is a development league
  • All participants will receive a ribbon at the end of the season

COMPETITION HOLIDAYS/BREAKS

  • Holiday break – Monday 13th April 2020 to Saturday 25th April 2020 (inclusive).
  • Public Holidays – no competition played (all grades) on Queens Birthday Long Weekend (8th June, 2020)

 KEY POINTS WHEN ORDERING YOUR TEAM UNIFORM

  • tops must be matching & reversible
  • shorts must be matching
  • numbers (00, 0-99) must be displayed on the front and back of each playing top
  • no parts of the uniform may feature external pockets or any other feature with potential to cause injury
  • undergarments which protrude from under the uniform must be the same colour as uniform or black
  • Please note that all teams must be in correct uniform from week 4. Refer to by-laws for clarification.

All parents will be asked by the Team Manager to undertake scoretable duties throughout the season. Your team only needs to supply one person per game. MWBA staff will provide assistance for the first few weeks of the competition. Team mangers are asked to provide a roster to all members of the team so that each member knows when it is their turn to undertake scoretable duties. Please note the scoretable official should be minimum 14years+

For the most, participants and spectators enjoy their basketball in a competitive and positive manner here at Manly Basketball Basketball. From time to time however, some people let their emotions take over and display unacceptable behaviour towards officials, the opposition or their supporters and at times, even their own team members or kids. Please always remember to support participants, including referees in a positive manner.  Please view our Zero Tolerance Policy and be aware that any breaches can be referred to tribunal.

Please note that while Manly Basketball Association will make every effort to accommodate individual players, placement is not guaranteed. 

Manly Basketball Association has created an Individual Player Board to assist the many parents and players who are seeking to join a team and the teams who are seeking players. 

Submissions will appear on our website within 7 working days. Please note:

By nominating as an Individual player, you are agreeing to:

  • your details (individual name, email address, mobile phone number, grade) to be posted on the Individual Player Board located on the Manly Warringah Basketball Association website.
